I was born in Houston, Texas, in 1995. So I'm seventeen. My mom would always tell me that I was a natural composer. I made up my first melody before I could talk, she says. At three, barely even able to speak coherently, I started singing opera. I got my first couple of gigs in friend’s living rooms, and from there, I guess I just knew that I wanted to be in the spotlight. I started vocal training at seven, wrote my first song at nine, started playing instruments at ten... it was a beautiful thing, cause I've known what I've wanted from day one. It's one of those childhood dreams that I never let go.

Moving out to Los Angeles had to have been one of the biggest decisions in my life. I came out with high hopes. Too high, maybe. But I didn't want to give up, I believed that I had talent, and I wasn't about to let my dream slip right from under me! I was in the city I needed to be in! So I waited. And wrote. And waited. And played. And waited.

I made a YouTube account, (itsmePAULINA) and put up a video of me singing a song I liked. I really didn't mean for it to get as popular as it did. It was a wonderful transition to see something that initially had just started as something fun could actually jump start my career. My current manager found me on there, and I've had amazing opportunities, like working on NBC's The Voice. That's a whole other novel, but it was the most incredible experience of my life. I got to be coached by Christina Aguilera, one of the most accomplished artists and greatest voices I've ever heard. So what's the next step? The next step is making the dream happen. I've taken all of the time that I've worked for this and used it to the fullest. I've been writing and recording and working extra hard on my craft and I can honestly say that I have never felt more ready in my entire life. Are you ready? I am. :)
